Nurturing Your Motherhood
Mar 23, 2024Thoughts as I nurture Violet to sleep...
Between Nursing
Pumping
Eating enough to produce milk
Anxiety with milk production
Bathing
Naps
Engorged, leaking breasts
Bruised, chapped nipples
Healing mentally and physically
Dealing with the outside noise telling us HOW to mother
Told to sleep train.
Told to NOT hold our babies too much.
Told NOT to sleep train
Researching child development
Then told TO hold our babies
Postpartum emotions
No sleep. A changing body.
Laundry. Dishes. Cleaning. Eating. Cooking.
Running a business. Walking the dog.
Societal pressure telling US the DEFINITION of motherhood. How it should LOOK. How it should FEEL. How it should BE.
How to "bounce back.."
This. ALL OF THIS.
The noise. The judgements. The control. The fear. The overwhelm. The perfectionism. Brainwashing.
The bullshit.
And yet here we are. As MOTHERS. Naturally strong. Intuitive. Beautiful. If we surrender through the noise, through the transformations, allowing the gift that space and time provides to us...A gift from the cosmos, we would see the truth of
The gentleness your arms provide to your child and their feelings of safety. The restfulness their sleep brings as their hearts grow beyond bounds.
Their peace. The calmness and importance of life when we allow the moment to lead.
All while YOUR heart opens outside of yourself as you begin to see life through their eyes.
As mothers, we are gifted this opportunity to see.
To see beyond the illusions. From disconnect, separation and fear.
We have the capability and opportunity to connect and reestablish a relationship with SPACE and TIME. To nurture presence, attention, selflessness; so that our children can grow and keep their connection to their hearts and Nature.
To not lose their sacredness and innocence but to utilize this STRENGTH. To play, to laugh, to continue the legacy of joy with Self and with one another.
As mothers, we hold this sacredness in our hands. We nurture this with our hearts as we have the recipe for change.
And it begins with presence. Time. Space. And allowing our children to lead the way as we provide the support that their souls crave to develop in their individuality.
So, the next time overwhelm hits, the next judgement that is spoken, or if the pressure builds..
Remember this.
You hold the world in your arms. And by allowing these pockets of time to teach you, naturally, by being the version of MOTHERHOOD that YOU choose..
You are changing the world. Even if there is pressure on your shoulders..
You, as a mother, become stronger with every step you take.
And that is why your child has chosen you to guide them. You hold this Medicine for them. You hold the wisdom that they need to thrive and develop, to deepen their love.
And for that, the greatest gift is received.
The bond between Mother and Child.
..For Violet.
