Chamomile & Lavender Sun Infusion for Summer Nourishment

The other day, I felt a quiet nudge from two of my most trusted plant allies: Chamomile and Lavender. When certain herbs call to me, I listen—and this time, they whispered gently, and I said yes.

I’d been feeling frazzled.
After an emotionally difficult couple of weeks, our baby got sick, and work began to shift in unexpected ways. My system was on overload. I was emotionally depleted, physically run down, and energetically running on empty.

So when these two plants reached out to me with their gentle wisdom, I didn’t hesitate—I answered.

This Sun Tea Infusion was exactly what I needed. Nourished by the warmth of the sun and the soothing medicine of the herbs, it felt like a soft exhale. It offered me space to slow down, reset, and refill my cup—sip by sip, over a few quiet days.

As mothers, caregivers, or simply as humans navigating life, there are seasons when it feels like we barely have a moment to breathe. I know how hard it can be to pause. But I’ve found that working with the herbs—especially in tea infusions—offers deep support. Even just one mindful moment with a cup of tea can bring calm to the nervous system, tenderness to the heart, and grounding to the body. So, even if we only have a moment... a moment is all we need.

 Why Chamomile and Lavender?

These two herbs are powerful yet gentle.

  • Chamomile brings a soothing, cooling effect, perfect for calming both the body and the spirit.

  • Lavender is a deeply relaxing herb, offering emotional comfort and energetic softness—a true hug in a mug.

Together, they make a beautiful combination that supports the nervous system, reduces emotional overwhelm, and invites a deeper sense of peace and connection.

 The Power of the Sun

One of my favorite personal rituals is meditating in the sunshine. The warmth of the Sun connects us to our life force, passion, and creativity. Making a Sun tea infusion is a way of capturing that healing light directly into your herbal medicine(especially if you're short on time)—an offering to the body, mind, and heart.

 How to Make It

You’ll need:

  • 2 parts Chamomile

  • 1 part Lavender

  • Fresh water

  • A clear glass jar

Directions:

  1. Add your herbs to the jar and fill it with fresh water.

  2. Place the jar outside in full sunlight for about 6 hours.

  3. The sun’s warmth will slowly extract the medicinal properties of the herbs.

  4. Once finished, strain out the herbs and refrigerate.

I’ve been sipping mine in the evenings as part of my wind-down ritual.

 What This Infusion Supports

* Spiritually- these herbs bring beauty back into our worlds. Filled with their gentleness, I find a deep sense of love and connection back to my own being, anytime I work with them.
